As a potential parent it is essential you get to know all the possible schools. Although it is extremely valuable to talk to other parents about their experiences at potential schools. You must visit the schools, trawl through their websites, social media and make your own opinions. Don't rule out any school until you have competed your own due diligence.

The most popular and prestigious schools can have hundreds of applicants for  thirty places at 7+ and this intensifies at 11+ . When compiling your target lists, be realistic. Look at cohort details, any geographical factors and entrance requirements. The super selective schools of London are typically  working two national curriculum years above state schools from year 1 onward.
